"We have just completed the first half of the season with two monster tournaments, back-to-back," Warrior coach Mike Kendalll said.

In the WRAL tourney at Athens Drive in Raleigh, the team faced wrestlers from Florida, Virginia and North Carolina.

"Twelve of our wrestlers competed hard and hopefully learned some on-the-mat lessons that will help us in the big tournaments come February," Kendall said. "Congratulations to Greg Martin for finishing in sixth place."

Other East Wake wrestlers that competed were: 103-Scott Staples, 112-Kerry Sarna, 119-Jordan Miller, 135-Jennings Stout, 140-Brandon Beck, 145-Connor Porter, 152-Mitchell Morgan, 160-Cullen Casper, 171-Marquis Joyner, 189-J.J. Rodriguez and 285-Zack Burke.

The team resumes conference matches Wednesday, Jan. 7, in Wendell against Southeast Raleigh. Wrestling begins at 7 p.m.
