Knightdale — Knightdale's softball team victimized its two opponents recently.

On March 17, Knightdale racked up 25 runs to Durham-Jordan’s 1 in the five-inning event.

Lexie Brock won on the mound and led with four RBIs and four runs.

Samantha Cox followed, going 3-3 (four RBIs, three runs). Paige Peterson went 2-3 (four runs), captain Hannah Short went 2-2 (four runs), and Anna Powell went 2-3 (3 RBIs).

March 20 was no different. Knightdale out-batted Holly Springs 25-2.

Hannah Short led going 5-5 (four runs, four RBIs), Anna Powell went 3-3 (three runs, three RBIs), Paige Peterson went 3-3 (three runs), Christina Fischer was 2-2, Devin Hill was 2-2 (three RBIs), and Kayla Boggs went 2-5 (four RBIs, winning pitcher). Boggs is now 3-3 on the season.

The Knightdale softball team’s record is now 4-3.

Last year, the Lady Knights scored 58 runs in 23 games — a team average of .227.

This year, in just seven games, the Lady Knights have scored 72 runs. That’s a team average of .374.
