Zebulon GT Magnet Elementary School had 40 students compete in the Wake County Public School’s (Northern Area) First in Fitness Competition March 12 at Southeast Raleigh High School. There were 25 elementary schools competing. ZES participants included:

Second Grade

Shuttle run — Alex Straughn and Gracen Sessoms (first place); pull-ups — Max Privette and Alexis Holloway; long jump — Jeremiah Keyes (fifth place) and Danielle Privette (first place); 100-yard dash — Jorge Ochoa-Peru and Sarah Jones (fifth place); and mile run — Blake Boyette (second place) and Kayla Higginbotham.

Third Grade

Shuttle run — Spencer Hicks and Alexis O’Neal; pull-ups — Coda Brannan and Anna Carpenter; long jump — Jeremiah Walker and Caroline Bell (second place); 100-yard dash — Joshua Strickland and Shawnie Green (fifth place); and mile run — Connor Jordan and Lindsey Diaz DeLeon.

Fourth Grade

Shuttle run — Marcus Manley (first place) and Naja Holmes (first place); pull-ups — Brishun High and Cameron Holloway; long jump — Tyree Ellis and Courtney Ray; 100-yard dash — Dwight Perry and Tacyana Temple; and mile run — Peyton Creech and Chloe Fanelli.

Fifth Grade

Shuttle run — Brooks Stancil (first place) and China Allford; pull-ups — Cody Horton and Sierra Marsh; long jump — Cameron Rushford (fifth place) and Kristin Whitley (fourth place); 100-yard dash — Kenjahliq Brown and Bria Barden (fourth place); and mile run — Hayden Leach and Chyna Perry.
