A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Willie A. Davis and Myrtie Kirks Davis. After raising her family, she became a private sitter in area rest homes. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband, James W. Carroll and her second husband, Floyd Price; her son, James R. Carroll; two brothers; and four sisters.

Survivors include four daughters, Savonne C. Horne of Zebulon, Patricia C. Schilling of Wendell, Katie C. Cooke of Maryland and Betty C. Bunn of Knightdale; three sons, William A. Carroll and Bernice Carroll both of Zebulon and Freddie Carroll of Wendell; two step-sons, Braxton Carroll of Zebulon and Daniel Carroll of South Carolina; 24 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday in the chapel of L. Harold Poole Funeral Service with the Rev. Tim Hopkins and the Rev. Larry Upchurch officiating. Burial followed in the Corinth Baptist Church cemetery.
