A native of Benson, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Morgan and Vida Ethel Allen Morgan and the widow of Carlton Freeman Edwards. She retired from state government where she worked in various departments.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Edwards and his wife, Jan, of Raleigh and Stan Edwards and his wife Melia of Knightdale; one brother, J.E. Morgan of Wilmington; and three grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Sunday afternoon in Raleigh Memorial Park with the Rev. Stan Edwards officiating.
