She was the widow of Junius Allen.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Pearces Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Joan Tippett and her husband, Ed, of Louisburg and Wendy Smith and her husband, Eddie, of Spring Hope; one son, Andy Allen, of Hampstead; one sister, Audrey A. Griffin, of Wendell; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren..

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 - 8:30 p.m. at Massey Funeral Home in Zebulon.
