PITTSBORO – Clara Croom Morris, 87, of Galloway Ridge at Fearrington, formerly of 2020 Olive Chapel Road, Apex, died Saturday, August 8.A native of Wake County, she was the daughter of the late James Bearl Croom Sr. and Irona Long Croom and the widow of M.B. Dick Morris. She graduated from Wakelon High School in 1940 and earned a degree from Hardbarger’s Business College. She was a longtime member of Olive Chapel Baptist Church.Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Morris of Asheville, Marlene Morris-Carr and her husband James of Broomfield, Colo.; one son, Buster Morris of Apex; one sister, Chris C. Moss of Raleigh; one brother, Bobby H. Croom and his wife, Sandra, of Beaufort; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the L. Harold Poole Funeral Service chapel with Chaplain Danny Green of Duke Hospice officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Zebulon.The family will receive visitors Monday from 6-8 p.m. at L.
