A native of Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late James Clemom Murphy and Grace Arnold Murphy. She was a retired teacher assistant with the Wake County school system.

Survivors include her husband, Douglas Ray Bryant; two sons, Scott D. Bryant and his wife Lisa and Jeffrey R. Bryant and his wife Cathy all of Raleigh; one brother, Charles Murphy of Colliersville, W. Va.; two sisters, Betty M. Rogers and Alice M. Johnson both of Youngsville; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Raleigh with the Rev. Buddy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Ridge Baptist Church cemetery in Zebulon.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home.
