A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was the son of the late Albert Eugene Hoke and Frances Harris Hoke. He was vice president of Southeastern Electronics and retired from Thomson Consumer Electronics in 1995. He taught Sunday school at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church for 16 years and the class was named for him in 2005.

Survivors include his wife, Annie Lee Hoke; one daughter, Andrea H. Workman and husband Billy of Wake Forest; one brother, J. David Hoke and wife Toria of Lindenwold, N.J.; one sister, Rima Christie of Clayton.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Wake Cross Roads Baptist Church with Dr. Bill Bowyer and the Rev. J. David Hoke officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 1-1:45 p.m. prior to the service and at other times at the home.
