MIDDLESEX — Kennon Davis Stone Sr., 70, of Louisville, Ky., died March 15 at the J.W. Stone homeplace in Middlesex. Funeral was March 18 at Middlesex Church of God. Burial was in the Stone family cemetery adjacent to Middlesex Church of God.

He was a retired minister, pastor and counselor. He held divinity degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. He was the son of the late James W. Stone and Lettie Cone Stone. He was predeceased by brothers, John L. Stone, the Rev. Carold Stone and Eugene Stone.

Surviving: wife, Paula Parris Stone of Louisville, Ky.; children, Kennon (Dale) Stone Jr. and Rebecca (Brett) Whitley of Franklin, Tenn., Joey (Stephanie) Stone of Springfield, Ill., David Gray of Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren, Jessica, Grace and Josiah Whitley, Cody, Cory and Ashley Stone, Christina and Zackary Camille; brothers and sisters, Betty Hopkins, Harold (Doris) Stone, Donald (Jessie) Stone, Wayne (Sonya) Stone, Sue (Joel) Trammell, Brenda (Douglas) Whitley, Mike (Shelia) Stone, Jill (Ricky) McKeel, and Daryl (Sandy) Stone of Middlesex, Junius B. (Margie) Stone, Jan (Carl) Carothers and Wendy (Brett) Blackmon of Bailey, Jimmy (Linda) Stone of Rocky Mount, Sandra (Gregorio) Carrero, Toney (Brenda) Stone and Jenny (Lee) Brantley of Wilson, Ted (Denise) Stone of Spring Hope, Jack (Stephanie) Stone of Sims, Starr (Bernard) Dixon, Gloria (Michael) Brownlee, Vickie (Lamar) Vest and Ginger (Robert) Varner of Cleveland, Tenn., Katie Lancaster of Flowery Branch, Ga.; sisters-in-law, Josephine Stone, Judith Stone, Hunter Stone.
