Golf tournaments

Wakefield Central Baptist Church's Belarusian Ministry will host a golf tournament at Zebulon Country Club Nov. 6 to raise money to bring children from the former Soviet state of Belarussia to Zebulon next summer. Registration begins at 10 a.m. and golf starts at 11 a.m. Cost is $75 per person or $300 per team for the Captains Choice/Superball event. The fee includes a round of golf, a mulligan and a meal. Vision Baptist Church will host a golf tournament Oct. 26 at Riverwood Golf Club to help raise money for their building fund. The four-person Superball tournament costs $60 per player, which includes free range balls and a meal. There will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Call Bobby Wilson at 231-2788 to register by Oct. 19.

Finance course

Freed-Up Financial Living, a course in financial planning, will be offered Wednesdays from Oct. 21-Nov. 18 at Knightdale United Methodist Church, 7071 Forestville Road, Knightdale. The course is designed to help people at all stages of their lives effectively deal with day-to-day financial issues. The course is free. Childcare is available.

Auction

Corinth Baptist Church will host its annual Harvest Sale Nov. 14. Lunch is served beginning at 11 a.m. followed by the auction at 1 p.m. The church is at 13450 N.C. 96, Zebulon.

Fall festivals

Social Plains Baptist Church, 639 Hagwood Road, Zebulon, hosts its annual fall festival Oct. 30 from 6-8 p.m.

Grace Baptist Church will host a Fall Festival Oct. 31 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church. There will be a cakewalk, games, a puppet show, face painting, food and prizes. The church is at 3305 Old Milburnie Road, Raleigh. Call 217-4487 for information.

Raleigh Christian Community Church will host a Fall Festival Oct. 31 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Harris Creek Elementary. Proceeds will benefit the Backpack Buddies program. Activities include inflatables, games, face painting, raffles and more. Tickets are $.25 each. Bring a can of food and receive free tickets. The school is at 3829 Forestville Road, Raleigh.

Baptist Tabernacle Church is holding its annual Fall Fest Oct. 31 from 7 a.m.-2 p.m.. There will be ham and sausage biscuits for breakfast and hot dogs for lunch. The event will include a yard sale, a bake sale, crafts and a cake and quilt auction. There will also be activities for children, inclulding games and a cake walk from 10 a.m.-noon. Trunk or treat

Watkins Chapel Baptist Church hosts a trunk or treat alternative to Halloween Oct. 31 from 5-8 p.m. The church is at the intersection of N.C. 39 and N.C. 231 in Emit.

Concerts

The New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Gospel Choir will host a musical program Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. Soloists, gospel choirs, quartets and dance and praise teams are welcome to participate. Straightway Temple Ministries, 3009 Rosinburg Road, Zebulon, will host a singing program Oct. 25 at 3 p.m. sponsored by the church's Missionary Department. A number of choirs will perform. Call Ethel Anderson at 269-5070 for more information.

Conferences

Abundant Life International Fellowship will host a leadership conference at New Life Holiness Church onf E. Haynes Avenue in Middlesex Oct. 31 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Lunch will be served.

Now Faith Community Baptist Church will host a Women's Conference Oct. 23-24. The Friday night event begins at 7 p.m. with a pottery camp at 12981 U.S. 70 Business in Clayton. On Saturday, events will be held at the church from 8:30 a.m.-noon. The church is at 8933 Buffaloe Road, Knightdale. For more information, call 838-2029.

Wakefield Central Baptist Church will host a two-part seminar on supporting the grieving family. Set for Nov. 4 and 11 from 6:30-7:30 p.m., the sessions will cover topics such as understanding the bereaved family and helping children understand death, dying and loss. Yard sale

Knightdale Church of God will host a Ladies Ministry yard sale Nov. 7 at 7 a.m. Proceeds benefit community outreach programs offered by the Ladies Ministry.

Recovery program

Bethany Baptist Church will host a program called Celebrate Recovery for alcoholics, addicts or people with any other personal problem. Meetings will be held Thursday nights from 6:30-9 p.m. beginning Nov. 5 at the church at 3417 Rolesville Road. Call 266-3673 for more information.

Pastor feted

Wendell First Baptist Church will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Rev. James Lee's pastorate at the church with two days of events. On Nov. 7 at 5 p.m. there will be a banquet at Wendell Baptist Church. On Nov. 8 at 3 p.m., the church will host a service at Wendell First Baptist Church at 119 Church Rd., featuring guest speaker the Rev. Ronald Avery, who is the leader of the Wake County Baptist Church Association.

Plate sale

Glory Cloud and Fire Ministries will hold a fish fry Oct. 24 beginning at 11 a.m. The cost of a plate is $7.

Day of giving

Pearce Baptist Church will host its annual Inasmuch Day Nov. 7 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. A yard sale and other events will begin at 10 a.m. Hot dogs will be served beginning at 11 a.m. All events are free. The church is at 4634 Pearces Road, Zebulon.
