ZEBULON -- A Wendell woman died Saturday morning after her car struck a bridge and overturned in a creek.The state Highway Patrol said the one-car accident occurred shortly after 5 a.m. on Green Pace Road near Zebulon. Shirley Ann Pitt, 35, of 23 E. Boxley Drive lost control of her car as she was driving south about seven miles from her home.The cause has yet to be determined, but troopers have ruled out alcohol as a factor, the patrol said.
