WENDELL — A dispute between
neighbors ended with one man
under arrest after he drove his
truck into his neighbor’s house.
Douglas A. Jones, 45, of 532
Marshburn Road, told police he
was driving north on Marshburn
Road when he stopped to tell
three people to get out of the road.
One of the pedestrians threw a
rock at Jones’ truck, he told police.
Jones then stepped on the gas and
drove his truck through the front
door of a home at 545 Marshburn
Road.
Police reports say Jones backed
his truck up and drove it into the
house again, knocking down a
wall that struck two people inside
the house.
They recieved only minor injuries
and were not taken to the
hospital.
Jones then got out of his truck
and got in a fight with Dejsha
Montague, who lives in the house
that was struck. Anthony Montague,
who also lives at 545
Marshburn Road, pulled a knife
and swung it at Jones, who retreated
to his house.
Dilbra Brewington, who lives
at the home, said Jones uttered
racial epithets at the people in the
road when the incident started.
Officer Roy Holloway responded
to the scene and saw
Jones’ truck, which appeared to
have been driven onto the porch
and about six feet into the living
room of Brewington’s house.
Holloway searched Jones’ truck
and found a pistol behind the
seat and a knife in the driver’s
side door.
Jones was charged with assault
with a deadly weapon,
ethnic intimidation, simple assault,
damage to real property
and carrying a concealed
weapon.
