Knightdale — Agents with the Wake County Sheriff’s drug and vice unit and the police departments in Wendell, Knightdale and Zebulon combined to issue warrants against 45 people on 56 counts of illegal drug activity in a roundup conducted Friday.

As of Monday 20 of those wanted in connection with the round up had been arrested.

According to Phyllis Stephens, a spokesperson with the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, Friday’s sweep was the result of an undercover investigation that began in March.

Most of the charges were filed against street-level drug dealers and involved the sale of cocaine and marijuana.
