Wendell — For Wake County fifth-graders, the annual trek to Blue Jay Point County Park is a much-anticipated event.

The overnight field trip is an opportunity to see nature up close and spend a night away from home.

Last week, four fifth-grade classes from Wendell Elementary School made the trip and the Eastern Wake News captured the sounds and images of one class’s experience.
