    Girl on Girl Comedy & Revue is coming to Clayton. The show, which features female, gay and lesbian performers, will be at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Laugh Out Loud Comedy Club.

    Radford 60th wedding anniversary

    John Marion Radford Sr. & Addie Williamson Radford of Clayton, N.C. celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at the Homestead Resort, Va. They were married at Corinth Baptist Church on Sept. 4, 1954. They have 4 children.


    Faith Notes: Sept. 7

    “Lady’s in Hat Prayer,” a brunch, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at First Missionary Baptist Church, 500 S. Pollock St., Selma. NaKia Evans of Camden, S.C., will speak. Women should wear the hat of their choice.


    Community Notes: Sept. 7

    Christ Community United Methodist Church will hold a food drive from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Clayton Farm & Community Market on Horne Square on Main Street in Clayton. Donations will stock the church’s food pantry, which is open the second Saturday of every month.

    The Rev. Steve Lawson, pastor at Lee’s Chapel Advent Christian Church near Four Oaks, has been elected president of the Advent Christian General Conference of America.
