Knightdale police are seeking the man shown in this image, taken from surveillance video. He is a suspect in a fraud investigation involving a theft from Wal-Mart.

TOWN OF KNIGHTDALE

— Police are looking for a suspect who is thought to have committed credit card fraud at the town's Wal-Mart on Knightdale Boulevard on May 18.

Police were contacted by the victim that a charge of $670 was made to his State Employee Credit Union debit account.

The victim does not appear to reside in Knightdale, although he is a Wake County resident, police said.

The suspect purchased an iPad, a video game for a PlayStation 4 and a car charger.

According to surveillance videos, the suspect is a black male who wore a white shirt and blue jeans at the time of the fraud.

The video also shows the suspect drove a black minivan.

The fraud is though to be separate from two similar thefts at Best Buy that happened last month, with one only a few days after the fraud was reported.

Police said it’s possible the theft is part of a larger criminal ring, but details about that usually aren't clear until an arrest is made.
