Thieves target Best Buy

From staff reportsMay 30, 2014

— Police are looking for help for two theft incidents at the Knightdale Best Buy in the past month.

Knightdale police said one of the thefts is thought to be an organized larceny at the Best Buy on Knightdale Boulevard.

Police said a group of three people, two males and one female, took three Samsung Galaxy tablets, valued at over $500 from the store on May 4.

According to surveillance video, one of the males opened boxes holding the tablets and the other two suspects concealed the tablets when leaving the store.

On May 21, another woman not connected to the first group, attempted to buy an Apple computer with $1,400 of fraudulent traveler’s checks.

Knightdale police said that suspect is thought to be targeting other stores in the area.

Best Buy officials say they will not comment on crimes committed in their stores out of concern that those stores may become targets for more crime.
