Scholarships awarded

Three students from Knightdale and Wendell received $1,000 Ray Kroc Youth Achievement Award scholarships from McDonald’s and Ronald McDonald House Charities scholarships for outstanding academic achievement and community involvement. Alayna Hill of Knightdale and Sujey Perez Gamez of Wendell were selected as Ray Kroc Scholars and Jordyn Izzo of Knightdale was selected as a Ronald McDonald House Charity Scholar.

JCC students honored

Several eastern Wake students at Johnston Community College have been inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. They were honored during an induction ceremony April 8. The students are: Michael Davis and Nathan Stokes of Zebulon; and Dionicia Richardson of Wendell.

KidzArt classes

Students at East Wake Academy and Zebulon Elementary School attended after school drawing classes taught by KidzArt Inc. Students attended three one-hour classes and were taught how to use materials such as water color pencils and markers. The art work from these classes are now displayed at the Zebulon Town Hall.
