Letter: Why limit senior services?

April 11, 2014

Regarding your paper’s April 9 article announcing “Pastor plans center for seniors” why, in 2014, is there a foundation being formed to assist and primarily help African American senior citizens? I would think that many, many senior citizens in eastern Wake County could use assistance with their financial, legal and medical issues. But, what is not a good idea is to bring our nation’s negative memories of who could go in the front door, and who had to use the back door. Why is this effort not promoting and supporting just a senior citizen foundation?

Americans, Americans, no more, no less!
