Warriors, Trojans all knotted up

— They say the only thing worse than a tie is kissing your sister.

East Wake and Harnett Central learned that lesson the hard way Wednesday night, as they battled to a 0-0 overtime tie.

Harnett Central had the game’s best scoring opportunity, with a penalty kick at the 31-minute mark of the first half that LA Tedder dove to her left and punched out of the goal mouth.

East Wake had more scoring opportunities throughout the game, maintaining possession in the Trojan end of the field for long stretches at the time.

But none of East Wake’s shots found their way to the back of the net either.

The Warrior’s best opportunity to score came with 3:46 remaining in the second 10-minue overtime period when Kalyn Johnson got behind the Trojan defense. But her shot into the goal went directly into the hands of the Harnett Central keeper, stifling that threat.

The tie leaves East Wake 2-4-1 overal, 1-3-1 in conference play.
