Get to know her: Polka is a 5-year-old, 52 pound American Staffordshire Terrier mix. She is very quiet and loves to take trips and long walks where she can sniff around. She can be particular about her canine friends, so families who already have a dog may wish to have them meet her ahead of time. Her adoption fee is $95.

For more information: Founded in 1967, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) of Wake County is an autonomous organization and is not affiliated with or supported by any other SPCAs including the ASPCA. The SPCA of Wake County is a private, non-profit organization that serves the pets and people of the Wake County community through spay/neuter and adoption programs.
