Each year, Lions clubs around the world sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in local schools and youth groups. This art contest encourages young people worldwide to express their visions of peace. For more than 25 years, millions of children from nearly 100 countries have participated in the contest.

The theme of the 2014-15 Peace Poster Contest was “Peace, Love and Understanding.” Students, ages 11, 12 or 13 on Nov. 15 were eligible to participate.

Recently the Pilot Lions invited the winners, their parents and art teacher Kelly Sari from Bunn Middle School to be recognized. 31-G District Governor and Lion Sandy Scarlett honored each girl as the students shared how their poster expressed their vision of peace. Ashley Williford won third place, Miranda Daniels second and Alexis Perry was the first place winner.
