Trail Life USA in North Carolina held a statewide launch event on New Year’s Day near Central Baptist Church in Wendell.

Trail Life troops from across N.C. (including Lexington, Roxboro, Rock Fish, Selma, Kenly, Wendell, Jacksonville, Charlotte, and Rocky Mount) converged on “Camp Eagle Rock” near Central Baptist Church of Wendell.

The event featured Trail Life USA program displays, a Dutch oven cooking competition, a scavenger hunt, inflatables, a bonfire ceremony, an airplane flyover, and lowering the Trail Life USA logo to kickoff the New Year at midnight. Each of the 100 or so attendees had the opportunity to create their own walking stick or “standard.” Shawn Anderson and Jeff Hudson of the Trail Life USA Board of Directors attended and fielded questions about the new program.
