— Holiday decorations are like lawns – when they’re good, everyone wants to stop and stare.

An Eastern Wake News contest that begins today is giving local residents who think their seasonal display is second to none a chance at being showcased for all to see in a feature article in our Christmas Day edition.

To enter the contest, share a photo of your elite holiday garnishing with us on Facebook no later than noon on Wednesday, Dec. 18. Find us on Facebook by searching “Eastern Wake News.”

Contestants must be eastern Wake County residents. In addition to speaking with a reporter, contestants must be willing to be photographed with their decorative display by a newspaper staff member.

As in every contest, there can only be one true winner. A panel of staff members at the Eastern Wake News will examine the entries and select the grand winner of a feature story.

Eastern Wake News is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
