Zebulon woman, 64, charged with drug trafficking

From staff reportsNovember 11, 2013

— A 64-year-old woman from Zebulon was being held in the Wake County Detention Center on Thursday for a court appearance on a drug-trafficking charge that said she sold opiates to a town police informant.

Cynthia Susette McCreery of 809 Shepard School Road was arrested at her home the morning of Oct. 27, according to an arrest report.

Police said in a warrant that she sold between 4 and 14 grams of opiates to an informant on Oct. 23.

State law allows police to charge trafficking once the drug quantity involved reaches 4 grams. McCreery was also charged with maintaining a place to keep or sell a controlled substance.

McCreery was convicted in 1997 of possession of a Schedule II drug, a group that includes cocaine.

She was being held Nov. 7 in lieu of $250,000 bail. She is scheduled to appear in court Nov. 15.
