KNIGHTDALE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Brisk air and blue skies made for ideal conditions for the 19th annual Knightdale Chamber Of Commerce Golf Tournament.

The tournament, one of the chamber’s major fundraising events, took place Oct. 24 at River Ridge Golf Club.

Many teams, sponsors, goody bag and raffle prize contributors, and volunteers participated in the event, which garnered generous donations.

The first-place team was Duke Raleigh Hospital, composed of John Kelsch, Don O’Malley, Mike Spiritos and Tucker (William) Cline. Michael Blake’s Garden Center, consisting of Michael Blake, John Murray, Brian Pendergraff and Mark Masotti, took second place while the Bojangle’s/Tri-Arc Foods foursome of Tommy Cohan, B.J. Bartell, Ron Tirpak and Jeff Mealy placed third.

Michael Carver, of Team Vardy HPC, scored $200 cash in the shotgun start raffle, while Pendergraff won the closest to the pin contest. Blake also took home a TaylorMade driver as winner of the hole No. 17 contest, and over 58 golfers participated in the ball launcher on No. 18.
