Sorority to host scholarship benefit

November 1, 2013

Chi Rho Omega, members of nonprofit Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, will host its annual “Pink Ice Scholarship Gala” at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, at The Renaissance – Raleigh, in North Hills. The gala is the second such event, and will raise money to help pay for the ever-increasing costs of college education.

Last year, the semi-formal event raised over $10,000 for scholarships and programs, with more than 300 guests in attendance. This year, the group hopes to exceed that figure with the help of public donations. Tickets for the event are $60.
