Knightdale High grads complete basic

Army Pvt. Sierra S. Curry and Pvt. Craig A Harris have graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldiers studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.

Curry is the daughter of Tracey Curry of Knightdale and Ricky Curry of Las Vegas, Nev. She is a 2012 graduate of Knightdale High School.

Harris is the son of Melissa Mooty of Jumping Frog Lane, Knightdale. He is a 2012 graduate of Knightdale High School.

Locals complete Air Force training

Air Force Airman Amilyn M. Kober, Reserve Airman 1st Class Ebony R. Thornton, and Airman 1st Class Apiphanie A. Cole graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. The airmen completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills. Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Kober is the daughter of Julen Williams of Maple View Drive, Knightdale. She is a 2012 graduate of Knightdale High School.

Thornton is the daughter of Angela Rowland of Danley Lane, Knightdale. She is a 2008 graduate of Knightdale High School.

Cole is the daughter of Willia Martin of Smith Avenue, Troy. She is a 2011 graduate of Knightdale High School.

Seaman graduatees

Brandon Nathaniel Archibald has completed his basic training from US Navy Basic Training in Great Lakes, IL. Archibald is attending Navy school in San Antonio, Texas, and upon completion of his schooling, will be a Master of Arms.

Archibald is the son of Isaac and Brenda Robinson. He is a 2013 graduate of East Wake School of Engineering.
