Band wins awards

Garner Magnet High School Marching Band performed “Adiemus” by Karl Jenkins at the Cleveland High School Band Competition in Clayton on Sept. 28 under the direction of Daniel Stellini. The band earned the following awards at this competition: Overall first place champions in the AAA division, first place for color guard, general effect, visual performance, and music; and second place for percussion.

Murder Mystery Dinner

The West Johnston High School marching band will host a dinner fundraiser at 6:15 p.m. Nov. 9 with the theme “Murder Mystery Dinner: Kill the Music.” The dinner will take place in the auditorium, and will be a choice of steak, chicken or vegetarian.

Tickets are $50 each. A silent auction and basket raffle will be held. To reserve your ticket, email aking28649@nc.rr.com.
