Health fair set for Saturday

The Zebulon Community Center will host the Zebulon Community Health Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 12. The event is free to the public and will feature screenings for BMI, body fat, blood pressure and blood glucose, as well as counseling to help participants maintain a healthy lifestyle and keep the functions of their bodies in check.

The fair will also have 26 vendors sharing information and services to educate, equip and empower the Zebulon community and surrounding residents to improve their quality of living. Attending will be representatives from Shepherds Care, Victorious Life Christian Center, Zebulon Parks & Recreation, Wake County Health & Human Services, The Poe Center, Zebulon Police and Fire Departments, Affordable Care Act navigators, and Rex Health Care, and many more.

Participants may also participate in live Zumba, Line Dancing, Yoga and Karate classes, as well as food demonstrations to show how to eat healthy. Attractions are tailored to appeal to people of all ages and genders. Children are invited to enjoy the clown and face painting throughout the day.
