GIRL SCOUT TROOP 564 — GIRL SCOUT TROOP 564

Suzi Dowling and Samantha Foust of Junior Girl Scouts Troop 564 have completed their project for their Bronze Award. The girls collected books, school supplies and art supplies from the eastern Wake County area and beyond, then donated them to the East Wake Education Foundation. The girls placed drop boxes at Kerr Drug, Zebulon Drug, Walgreens and Piggly Wiggly in Zebulon and collected donations throughout late July and early August. They also received items from donors as far away as Texas, the home of one of their sister Scout groups. On Aug. 19, their project was complete and they presented the supplies they collected to the foundation.

The East Wake Education Foundation is a nonprofit education program serving eastern Wake County. In addition to advocating for area schools, the foundation has an early childhood initiative called Family and Child Enrichment Services.
