K’dale library hosts summer activities

June 17, 2013

East Regional Library has an extensive list of activities for the whole family in June and July, at 946 Steeple Square Court, Knightdale.

Wake County Public Libraries are offering an adult summer reading program that focuses on “groundbreaking” works of fiction. There is a discussion about “On the Road” by Jack Kerouac 7 p.m. Monday, July 1.

The library will also offer one-on-one tutorial support to demonstrate “GoodReads” at 4:30 p.m. Friday, July 12. “GoodReads” is a website where readers can select what they want to read, maintain a list of personal favorites and share their favorites with other readers. No registration is required and the hour-long session is free.

A discussion on books for teens with adult appeal is 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 24. Attendees should bring their own reading suggestions.

Librarians will also offer hour-long one-on-one sessions 2 p.m. Sunday, July 28. Visitors will get tips and reading suggestions for making appetizer, grilling burgers, and decorating for the summer. No registration is required.
