Farmer’s Market

Charity events

East Wake Animal Hospital is conducting a rabies clinic 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 15, at 2100 Zebulon Road, Zebulon. Cost is $7 and proceeds will help with medical expenses for Mason Brantley. Daddy-daughter dance

The Knightdale Parks and Recreation Department and Chick-Fil-A of Knightdale are hosting a daddy-daughter dance 7-10 p.m. Friday, June 14, at 102 Lawson Ridge Road. Book Reading

Karen Matthews will read from her new children’s book, “The Legend of Lizard Lick” 10 a.m.- noon Saturday, June 22, at the Art of Giving Gallery, Studio and Gift Store at 123 N. Main St., Wendell.

Family Fun Day

The Archer Lodge Community Center is hosting its annual Family Fun Day and Independence Day celebration Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29, at the corner of Archer Lodge and Buffalo Road in Archer Lodge.

Featured highlights on Friday include the crowning of Little Miss Archer Lodge 2013 and the barbecue pig cookoff. Activities start early on Saturday, with a road race and a patriotic parade, all day concessions and inflatables, corn hole tournament, bingo and cake walk.

The center will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a patriotic ceremony that honors local veterans and features the Army Ground Forces Band. For more information, visit archerlodge.org.

Knightdale Parks & Recreation

Knightdale Parks & Recreation has scheduled the following summer activities:

•  Water Aerobics : 8:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, at the Knightdale Community Pool, 202 Milburnie Road.

•  Aerobics Classes: 8:30-10 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 6-7 p.m. Sunday, at the Knightdale Recreation Center, 102 Lawson Ridge Road.

•  Yoga : 5:45-7 p.m. Wednesdays at the Knightdale Clubhouse, 202 Milburnie Road.

•  Zumba : 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Knightdale Clubhouse, 202 Milburnie Road.

•  Senior Health Fair : 9 a.m.-noon June 13, at the Knightdale Recreation Center, 102 Lawson Ridge Road. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit knightdalenc.gov.
