K’dale Park & Recreation activities

Knightdale Parks & Recreation has scheduled the following summer activities:

•  Water Aerobics : 8:15 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, at the Knightdale Community Pool, 202 Milburnie Road.

•  Aerobics Classes: 8:30-10 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and 6-7 p.m. Sunday, at the Knightdale Recreation Center, 102 Lawson Ridge Road.

•  Yoga : 5:45-7 p.m. Wednesdays at the Knightdale Clubhouse, 202 Milburnie Road.

•  Zumba : 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the Knightdale Clubhouse, 202 Milburnie Road.

•  Senior Health Fair : 9 a.m.-noon June 13, at the Knightdale Recreation Center, 102 Lawson Ridge Road. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit

The community pool opens June 25. The hours are 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon-6 p.m. Sundays. For information on rentals, swim lessons and summer passes, call 919-217-2232.

Farmer’s Market

The Knightdale Farmer’s Market opens 4-7 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at 207 Main St., Knightdale. The market is open Thursdays throughout the summer. For more information, call Chris Roland 919-217-2234.

Charity events

East Wake Animal Hospital is conducting a rabies clinic 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, June 15, at 2100 Zebulon Road, Zebulon. Cost is $7 and proceeds will help with medical expenses for Mason Brantley. Baccalaureate service

East Wake High School baccalaureate service for the class of 2013 will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, June 2, at Central Baptist Church, 1109 Poole Road, Wendell.

Summer Camp

Daddy-daughter dance

The Knightdale Parks and Recreation Department and Chick-Fil-A of Knightdale are hosting a daddy-daughter dance 7-10 p.m. Friday, June 14, at 102 Lawson Ridge Road. Pre-register at Town Hall between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Cost is $20 per couple ($5 for each additional daughter). For more information, call Michelle Wester at 919-217-2232.

Business Expo

The Knightdale Business Expo is 2-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Knightdale High School, 100 Bryan Chalk Lane.

Book Reading

Karen Matthews will read from her new children’s book, “The Legend of Lizard Lick” 10 a.m.- noon Saturday, June 22, at the Art of Giving Gallery, Studio and Gift Store at 123 N. Main St., Wendell.

Zebulon Community Library events

Toddler storytime for walkers to age 3 is 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays and 11:30 a.m. Thursdays. Preschool storytime for 3- to 5-year-olds is 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays. Lunchtime trek
