Models from the Purple Shoe in Zebulon were invited to the governor’s mansion in Raleigh by North Carolina first lady Ann McCrory to hold a fashion show for the Sir Walter Cabinet, a group composed of the wives of the Governor’s cabinet members, on May 7.

Purple Shoe director Alice Coleman spoke to a crowd of about 70 women on the topic of domestic violence and the impact it has on families.

The models and their coordinator, Linda Hunt, are all volunteers who support the Purple Shoe’s cause of domestic violence outreach. The Purple Shoe has held one fashion show every month this year at various locations.

Any organization interested in hosting a Purple Shoe fashion show can call Hunt at 919-269-0109.
