Cub Scouts become Boy Scouts

A group of Cub Scouts recently became new Boy Scouts when they bridged from Cub Scout Pack 522 to Boy Scout Troop 524, Zebulon Baptist Church, during a ceremony April 6.

Dean Cashwell, Perry Jones, Dejour Banks, Eddy Burke, Sam Abdelnor, Fred Burke, Ryan Pender, Sam Aguirre are all new Boy Scouts with Troop 524.

“This is a very important step for these young men as they continue in their Scouting journey,” said their Troop leader, Annie Burke.

Burke, who has been the boys leader for five years, said the new Boy Scouts are all Arrow of Light recipients which is the highest award a Cub Scout can earn. Now that they are Boy Scouts this is the only Cub Scout award they are allowed to wear on their new uniforms.
