Field Days at Zebulon Elementary

Zebulon Elementary first in fitness

Athletes from Zebulon Elementary School competed in the annual Wake County First in Fitness competition March 13 at Southeast Raleigh High School.

Zakiah Haley (second grade) and Tyrek Alston (fifth grade) took first place in the 100-yard dash for their grade levels. David Lampkin (third grade) took second place in the Long Jump and Jermaine Wiggins (fifth grade) took second place in the shuttle run. Shane Thorson (third grade) came in third in the shuttle run, Cassidy Straughn (third grade) came won third place for pull-ups, and Jada Vick (third grade) came in third place in the 100-yard dash.

Jeremiah Grantham (second grade) came in fifth in the shuttle run, and Ja’Une Hawkins (third grade) also came in fifth place the 100-yard dash.

Other members of the team included second graders Jaleah Moore, Tyrek Williams, Miramelle Kellhofer, Tyler Green, Jamin Lassiter, and Carlos Garcia. Third grade team members included Cailee Ray, Union Wilson, Janya Allen, Isaiah Faulkner and Denise Ruiz Gaspar. Fourth grade students included J’Lan High, Charisma Morgan, Francisco Rios, Kihiah Brown, Damodien Johnson, Trinity Luchynsky, Jama Jones, Kordasia Rogers, Aidan Haugh and Avery Privette. And, fifth graders McCinsey Jones, Angel Garcia, Ashley Kerr, Nolan Swiger, Ania High, Gabrielle Buchanan, Dawson Creech and Kaitlyn Kaufman also competed in the competition.

Students tapped into honor society

East Wake High School recently inducted 49 students into the Spanish Honor Society.
