Public meeting

Relay for Life

• Clyde’s Chapel Baptist Church Relay for Life team is selling raffle tickets for a queen size Star/Log Cabin quilt. Tickets are $1each. For information, call 919-365-6969.

Public safety

The Wendell Police Department is hosting Public Safety Day 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 4 on South Campen Street. The event will feature a display of public-safety equipment and vehicles, free hot dogs and drinks and an inflatable for the kids. For information, call 919-365-4444.

Center holds raffle

The East Wake Senior Center is holding a raffle for a 32-inch television. The $5 tickets are on sale through May 3. The drawing will be held Wednesday, May 15. Buy tickets at 323 Lake Drive, Wendell. Call 919-365-4248. Proceeds support center activities.

The Wendell Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for town advisory boards and commissions, including the board of adjustment, parks and recreation commission, planning board, tree board and appearance commission. Charity event

Friends of Bruce Hemmingway are having a fundraiser 2 p.m. Sunday, May 19 at the Rudinos Restaurant, 4022 Village Park Drive, Knightdale. The group has several events planned including a raffle and a silent auction. Hemmingway recently suffered major injuries in a motorcycle accident and proceeds will help with medical expenses. Daddy-daughter dance

The Knightdale Parks and Recreation Department and Chick-Fil-A of Knightdale are hosting a daddy-daughter dance 7-10 p.m. Friday June 14, at 102 Lawson Ridge Road.
