Zebulon auction to benefit charitable programs

From staff reportsApril 23, 2013

— To raise money for charitable projects, the Zebulon Rotary Club plans to host an auction on April 27.

The auction is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Rotary/Woman’s Club Building at 405 West Sycamore Street in Zebulon. Through the Rotary Club, proceeds benefit scholarships to graduating high school students, the Boys & Girls Club, and reading programs at eastern Wake schools, among others.

It will feature a wide variety of items, such as bowls, jewelry and hair products. Gift cards for a wide range of services – including oil changes and teeth whitening – will also be auctioned.

“The deal on dental braces will probably be our biggest hit,” said Zebulon Rotarian Barrie Davis. “Someone will win about $6,000-worth of dental braces for probably half that much.”

Auction items will go on display at 4:30 p.m. Many of them will be offered in a silent auction, which will be conducted simultaneously with the live bidding. Food and drinks will be available, and door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening.

The Zebulon Rotary Club asks those seeking more information to call auction organizers at 919-269-4589.
