KNIGHTDALE - A Dunkin’ Donuts manager was arrested last week after allegedly defrauding the Knightdale Boulevard store.
Nicholas Arturo Myers, 20, of 1320 Bristoe Drive, was responsible for more than $10,000 in lost revenue for the store, according to Knightdale Public Safety.
He failed to deposit the store’s cash earnings for the week of Dec. 16, which totaled $7,494.
Myers was also charged with embezzlement for funneling more than $3,500 to an account he shared with a former employee, according to Shawn Brown, Knightdale Public Safety director.
The former employee is 20-year-old Jobani Leon, Myers’ roommate. Leon was terminated in 2011, according to police.
“However, Myers continued to fraudulently document working hours in Leon’s name,” says a statement by Brown.
Payroll checks were issued on Sept. 23, Oct. 7, Oct. 21, Nov. 4, and Nov. 18, Brown said.
Leon was not charged.
Myers signed a statement confessing to the embezzlement and taking full responsibility.
