Many of you may not have known Ms. Choretta Williams, who passed away Dec. 15. You see, Choretta was one of those people who quietly volunteered to make our community better for all of us. I was privileged to meet Choretta nearly 10 years ago, when she came in Helping Hands Mission with another customer. She fell in love with the place and we fell in love with her!
In the years since, Choretta could be found almost every morning folding and sorting clothes and doing other work as a Helping Hands Mission volunteer. There is no telling how many hours she and the “regulars” (Walter, Sheri, Dot, Mary and Gelli) contribute in performing this work that is so essential to our success.
I wanted to take this opportunity to recognize her for her many years of service. She was an outstanding volunteer and a good personal friend. Rest in peace, Choretta and may God bless the family during this trying time.
