KNIGHTDALE - An 18-year-old Knightdale man was arrested for providing alcohol to a minor and having sex with her.

Jacob Floyd Schaefer, of 1010 Emerald Common Drive, on Nov. 28 was charged with felony statutory rape after police say they found the victim, a 14-year-old female, intoxicated on the sidewalk near Schaefer’s residence.

The female was taken to WakeMed hospital for treatment, Knightdale Public Safety Director Shawn Brown said.

Schaefer was taken to the Wake County jail, where he was then charged with possession of a controlled substance on prison grounds – a felony – after a Percocet pill was found in his shoe.

As of last week, Schaefer remained in custody. His bond is set at $207,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 2 at 2 p.m., when all of the charges against him will be heard at once.
