Now Faith Community Development Center is sponsoring a Holiday Empowerment and Encouragement Rally for local children.
The center wants to encourage youth to take care of their health and achieve goals, stay away from gangs and be safe. Participants will hear from speakers and participate in drawings for several prizes including a mini computer, iPods, cameras, bicycles and more. The rally is 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 at Community Baptist Church, 8933 Buffaloe Road, Knightdale.
Organizers are also asking for donations for this nonprofit. Anyone interested in donating prizes for the rally can call 649-0470.
