ZEBULON - The Christian Faith Center Academy Conquerors lived up to their name Monday night as they trampled the East Wake Academy boys basketball team 98-44.
The Eagles jumped out to an early lead in the non-conference game compliments of a 3-point shot from sophomore Terrance McCarthy, but the Conquerors soon took over and never looked back.
Facing a much taller team, East Wake Academy could not gather any momentum on the glass, forcing a several one-and-done possessions.
“We knew coming in to today’s game that Christian Faith had some great players,” East Wake Academy head coach Miguel Bonano said. “Their class showed tonight — all credit to our guys though. They never stopped playing hard and that is all we can ask for.”
Senior Malachi Rocquemore led East Wake Academy in scoring with 7 points. Junior Freddie Martin-Bryan added 6 points off the bench, and senior Jimmy Polito and sophomores McCarthy and Collin Blank added 5 points each.
The loss left the Eagles’ record at 4-5, 2-1 on the season.
