EASTERN WAKE COUNTY - The Greater Neuse River 4A Conference recently released its All Conference selections for fall 2011 sports and multiple local athletes were recognized.
Cross CountryEast Wake boys named All Conference for cross country include Daniel Killette, Matt Cebey-Crecco and Colton Irelan. Adam Bridges was the lone Knightdale boys runner named to the All-Conference list.
East Wake’s Carson Lyman and Knightdale’s Rodney Stokes were recognized for Sportsmanship.
For the girls, East Wake’s Briana Arias and Knightdale’s Kristen Maiden were named All Conference, while Lady Warrior Nichole Nowell and Lady Knight Sarah McLellan were recognized for Sportsmanship.
FootballIn football, Knightdale players Tyler Thomas, Jermario Gooch and Kennan Wright were named All Conference, and East Wake players Jerry Goodson and Randolf Johnson were named to the list.
East Wake’s Caleb Rhinehart and Knightdale’s Bryan Sumner were selected for the Sportsmanship recognition.
GolfLady Knight Megan Johnson and Lady Warrior Phoebe Butcher were named All Conference in golf.
East Wake’s Samantha Smith and Knightdale’s Allyson Hagemann were recognized for Sportsmanship.
SoccerIn boys soccer, East Wake (12-0-2) finished first in the league and Knightdale (9-3-2) finished second.
East Wake coach DeLane Hayes was named Coach of the Year.
Warrior Griffin Heffner was named Defensive Player of the Year, and Knight Craig Gage was named Offensive Player of the Year.
East Wake players named All Conference include Heffner, Azzam Dhamra, Macon Watkins, Tyler Wilder, Jonathan Adams, Andy Shiver and Dionicio Lara Fuentes.
Knightdale players named All Conference include Gage, Wiley Foil, Dane Famiglieta, Brayan Sosa, Taylor Betts and Wyatt Holley.
East Wake’s Ricardo Avila and Knightdale’s Michael Neely received Sportsmanship recognition.
TennisLady Knight Allie Doub and Lady Warrior Alexis Montague were named All Conference in tennis.
East Wake’s Sierra Blackley and Knightdale’s Karen Branch were recognized for Sportsmanship.
VolleyballLady Warriors Shakerrya Morrison and Tianna Knuckles were named All Conference in volleyball, and Lady Knights Khadedra Taylor and CJ Moose were also named to the All-Conference list.
Receiving Sportsmanship recognition were East Wake’s Kara Van Nice and Knightdale’s Patricia Mathes.
