In response to the “Waiting for Wendell Falls” letter in the Nov. 6 edition of the Eastern Wake News, I would like to say that Wendell is my hometown. I was raised here and I think I can speak for a lot of people in Wendell when I say we love Wendell just as it is. There is nothing wrong with Wendell and it has definitely not lost its way. I’m glad to see that Wendell hasn’t grown like other towns with all the noise and traffic that comes with it.
What puzzles me is that someone will move to a town and immediately start complaining about the town. What I would do if I was unhappy here so that I wouldn’t have to even think about chewing my own arm off having to drive to Knightdale for my needs, is to maybe pull up stakes in Wendell and move to Knightdale and try and find an old house there to start restoring to its original glory.
