Buy crafts from Girl Scouts

Girl Scout Troop 3306 is having a fundraiser in downtown Zebulon 7-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 and 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3. Their store is at 209 N Arndell Ave. across from Sun Trust Bank. Santa arrives at 7 p.m. to pose for pictures with the children. The Brownie/Junior troop will have a Gingerbread house where children can shop for homemade crafts and jewelry. There will be baked goods and hot beverages for sale, a stocking stuffer corner, adult crafts, gift wrapping and Christmas carolers.

Christmas in Zebulon

Win a free 19" TV and other prizes when Zebulon ushers in the Christmas season and celebrates "Christmas in Downtown Zebulon," from 7-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2. Register at participating stores for the 9 p.m. drawing at Santa's Headquarters, 209 N. Arendell Ave. Santa rides into town at 7 p.m. on a tractor. Free hot chocolate and cookies is provided by the Zebulon Woman's Club, which is also selling handmade Christmas ornaments and gifts. Enjoy Christmas carols performed by several church choirs. Participants can stroll downtown and sample pastries and other goodies and pick up free gifts from the 20 participating stores.

Christmas events at Riley Hill

Riley Hill Baptist Church is hosting a Community Christmas Thursday, Dec. 8, and Friday, Dec. 9, with performances from area churches and schools. The Christmas Drama, "The Grand Announcement," will be presented on Saturday. The events are free and open to the public. There are also private tours of the art and nativity displays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday for seniors or anyone who's not able to attend the nightly performances. Food drive

Knightdale Kiwanis Club members are collecting food for local families through Dec. 16. Bring food donations to any local elementary or middle school, the Knightdale Town Hall, Parks and Recreation, Crescent State Bank, or Knightdale Chamber of Commerce. Mail cash donations to Kiwanis Club of Knightdale, P. O. Box 493. Knightdale, NC 27545-0493.
