The Wendell United Methodist Women will host their annual "Holiday Shopping Extravaganza" from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in the Wendell Methodist Fellowship Hall Building. More than 30 vendors from across the state will be featured; breakfast and lunch plates are on sale.

The CCBC Mission Serve team is holding its annual Ham/Turkey Shoot Friday, Saturday and Nov. 25 and 26 at Clyde's Chapel Baptist Church. Cost is $5 a shoot beginning at 7 p.m.

Covenant Presbyterian Church is sponsoring the Wendell-area Community Birthday Calendar, continuing a project started 55 years ago by the Christian Women's Fellowship of Wendell Christian Church. Covenant has a small team of volunteers working on the calendar, which should be ready by year's end. Calendar listings to mark birthdays, anniversaries or birth dates for deceased loved ones are 25 cents each. Calendars are $7, and proceeds benefit mission projects. Concert

Zebulon Baptist Church will host Christian singer and songwriter Stephen Hill for a free concert at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20. Hill is best known for his appearances on the "Gaither Homecoming" television series. An offering will be taken and nursery care provided.

Movie night

Come to a free movie night at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Zebulon United Methodist Church. The movie titled, "Last Flight Out" is about rescuing a missionary doctor and a village in Colombia from a drug lord. Everyone is welcome. There's a movie for children as well. Free popcorn, drinks and candy will add to the entertainment.

Christmas events at Riley Hill

Riley Hill Baptist Church will have a community Christmas celebration Thursday, Dec. 8, and Friday, Dec. 9, with performances from area churches and schools. The Christmas Drama, "The Grand Announcement," will be presented on Saturday. This event is free and open to the public. There are also private tours of the Art and Nativity Displays from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday for senior citizens or anyone who's not able to attend the nightly performances.
