Jordan Tyndall, a senior at East Wake Academy, has been named a commended student in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program.
He'll receive his letter of commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation during a school assembly.
About 34,000 students throughout the nation are recognized for their academic achievements through this program. Commended students placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2012 competition by taking the 2010 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
